The Town of Larkspur offers equal part historic town charm and modern sophistication. The walkable downtown along Magnolia avenue is studded with local favorites: fabulous shopping, Emporio Rulli Italian café, the acclaimed Picco restaurant, Posie ice cream & lunch faire, and Equator coffee & tea (plus summer happy hours on the patio), and Backstage wine tasting room. You can catch a variety of movies, old and new, at the newly restored historic Lark Theatre. The large town park plays host to an array of recreation, from soccer to cross-country practice, children’s summer camps, a running path, community garden, and more. Larkspur’s true claim to fame, however, is it’s fairytale-esque Baltimore Canyon, comprised of breathtaking woodsy trails and gorgeous homes under protection of mountain walls and an old growth forest canopy. Those commuting to San Francisco can enjoy what is perhaps the most pleasant commute in the Bay Area, across the beautiful bay on the Larkspur ferry. Larkspur and Corte Madera share a school district.
I find it a mini-vacation when I take the ferry into San Francisco. The scenery is world class!
There are great stores, restaurants and music at The Marin Country Mart.
One of my favorite places to pop into for a great wardrobe find.
A go-to for cards and beautiful things.
