If you’ve been wondering why it seems so few listings have been coming on the market in recent weeks, here’s why: Rappatoni, the multiple listing service used by agents throughout the country to post new listings, was cyber attacked nearly 3 weeks ago. Thus, areas where MLS was halted, have severely impacted the worldwide marketing of properties. It took nearly 3 weeks to get the system back up. I can’t begin to imagine the effect such an attack has had on buyers and sellers, the cost and effort to rebuild the alternate system that we are now using, and the ransom amount that was likely paid to the attackers. Luckily, we are now back in business!
